Medically Assisted Detoxification

suboxone binding to opioid receptors
Many patients have struggled with balancing the use of narcotic medications for pain and at the same time avoiding  a drug addiction/dependence problem.  After years of narcotic use, some find themselves hopelessly bound to higher and higher doses of narcotic medications, without any improvement in symptoms.  In some cases, the dependence and addiction problems to opioid medications becomes a more serious medical issue than the chronic pain itself.  At Nevada Pain and Spine, we offer medically supervised detoxification (weaning) from narcotics in appropriate patients.  Please note that drug dependence and addiction problems are often complex, and may require specialized in patient treatment, which NPSS does not provide. Our practice is certified in the use of Suboxone (Buprenorphine/Naloxone) for opioid dependence and medically supervised withdrawal,  The unique pharmacology of this medication makes for a smooth and stress-free transition off narcotic medications.  Our providers are ready to evaluate patients interested in treatment and determine if Suboxone therapy is the right choice. Our pogram requires concurrent behavioral and psychological care as part of the treatment.
